Cannes Yachting Festival 2024 - Following The Path To Green Innovation

AN EXCEPTIONAL BOAT SHOW IN THE HEART OF THE FRENCH RIVIERA

Each year, the Cannes Yachting Festival welcomes an eclectic offering of more than  700 boats , from  5 to 50 meters,  presented on land for those under 5 meters and afloat for those over 10 meters.

These boats are sailing or motor, monohulls or multihulls, hard or semi-rigid hulls.

Meet the biggest names in the nautical industry and their latest innovations in unrivaled visiting conditions!

The Palais des Festivals is dedicated to players in high-end yachting and the art of living, and welcomes brands specializing in luxury yachting and its environment.

CREATION OF A MARINA FOR MOTOR BOATS ≤12-13M

In 2024, the Cannes Yachting Festival presents a new sector dedicated to new motorboats up to 12-13 meters located at Port Canto, between the Sailing and Yacht Brokerage & Toys areas.

This new marina is an ambitious project because the space is very large and the content very rich: it covers more than 2,000 m² and offers more than 300 meters of quayside, allowing to accommodate 170 units, including 140 afloat and around thirty on land, with rigid or semi-rigid hulls. In addition to the boats, a selection of outboard motors will be presented on land along the entrance to this space. Do not miss this opportunity to discover the latest innovations in the field of new motor boats from 8 to 12 meters mainly from next September.

PLACES CONDUCIVE TO DISCOVERY

Located on the two ports of Cannes, the Vieux Port and the Port Canto, the Cannes Yachting Festival welcomes you in an exceptional environment, from one end of the famous Croisette to the other. Come and admire the most beautiful yachts and sailboats on the sunny coast of the Côte d’Azur. During your visit, you may have the chance to take the helm of exceptional units during sea trials !

THE OLD PORT

Among the oldest ports on the Côte d’Azur, the Vieux Port enjoys a privileged location in the heart of the city of Cannes, at the foot of Le Suquet.

Since 2019, it has been 100% dedicated to the motorboat industry. Shipyards, equipment manufacturers and service companies come together to present their latest innovations.

CANNES YACHTING FESTIVAL 2024 : SAILING THAT IS EVEN SAFER, MORE FUNCTIONAL, DIGITISED AND ENVIRONMENTALLY AWARE

There are 13 million pleasure boaters in France, and registrations of pleasure boats are increasing by around 12,000 a year. There are more than 1,000 harbours and marinas for pleasure craft on the coast and inland waters, 8,500 km of navigable waterways and countless lakes and stretches of water, and France is Europe’s leading pleasure boat builder and the world’s second largest. It’s a major industry that operates throughout the country, evolving and innovating like the rest of society to adapt to the demands of the 21st century yachtsman by looking to the future. (sources: https://www.mer.gouv.fr/le-secteur-de-la-plaisance-et-des-loisirs-nautiques) From biofuel based on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), to a gyroscope that soothes seasickness, Artificial Intelligence that detects any presence at sea or a remote-controlled mooring assistance system, the sector has never flourished so much in terms of the diversity of products and services! These international innovations, which are working to make yachting ever more accessible, safe and high-tech, will be on show at the forthcoming Cannes Yachting Festival, the inaugural event of the boating season and Europe’s largest in-water boat show, which opens its doors from 10 to 15 September. “Alongside the 700 boats on show, we are delighted to welcome a large number of equipment manufacturers and marine service providers who play a crucial role in our industry, hand in hand with the shipyards, by developing technologies, solutions, innovations and services that make sailing not only more enjoyable, more accessible and safer, but also more respectful of our seas and oceans. Thanks to their work, the nautical ecosystem is evolving to the delight of boaters. Some of these products and services will make their world premiere at Cannes” says Sylvie Ernoult, Director of the Cannes Yachting Festival.
