Ambassadors Show Their Support for Qatar International Boat Show!
Doha 12 November 2015 – The Qatar International Boat Show (QIBS) 2015, being held at Mourjan Marinas, Lusail City, Doha, from November 10th to 14th, was honoured to receive a number of ambassadors and representatives from various embassies in Doha on the opening day of the Show.
Visitors from the Bosnian, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish, Swiss, and US embassies were among many who made their way to Qatar International Boat Show to attend a special VIP day marking the st
art of the third edition of the international boat show.
The Italian Ambassador, H.E.Guido Sanctis – who was one of the very first ambassadors to give his full support to QIBS from its inception in 2013 – said Italian companies are already proudly involved in the World Cup 2022 stadiums’ construction, and in the realisation of the Doha metro. “With this awareness we are happy to bring again to Qatar our best companies in the nautical sector. If diplomacy is the art of compromise,” he continued, “no such idea is applied when we speak of a combination among Italian traditions, such as technology, design, materials and customer services. These factors are the ingredients of our offer for the boating and yachting world market.”
H.E. Hans-Udo Muzel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, said that once again the German embassy is proud to present a sizeable number of premium yacht makers in Doha. “German ships and marine engineering are among the finest in the world,” he said. “Many of the very best yachts, luxury boats and passenger ships carry the label ‘Made in Germany’. At the QIBS you have the opportunity to experience firsthand what makes this label so prestigious.”
H.E. Eric Chevallier, Ambassador of France, noted that the number of boat owners in Qatar is constantly increasing and bringing opportunities to the industry. “I wish all success to this new edition of QIBS,” he said, “and hope to see more and more exhibitors and visitors, especially from France.”
The Polish Ambassador, H.E. Krzysztof Suprowicz said that for the third time the Qatar International Boat Show is bringing the best of the world’s yachting, sailing and watersports to Doha. “Throughout these years the event has been able to attract a considerable number of industry professionals, visitors and water recreation fans,” he said.
H.E. Dana Smith, Ambassador of the USA, said she had really enjoyed QIBS last year and she looked forward to visiting the exhibitors and learning about the latest trends in the industry. “Qatar is a vibrant, dynamic society changing every day. Li
ke the USA, Qatar is a country focused on the future, and events such as QIBS showcase some of the finest American designs our manufacturers have available.”
QIBS 2015 is being held from November 10th to the 14th from 2.30pm to 9.30pm for the first three days, and from 12.30pm to 9.30pm on the Friday and Saturday.
This edition has been dedicated to the memory of Essa Al Mannai, the conceptualiser and Chairman of the Qatar International Boat Show, who passed away just over a week ago. It was Essa’s vision of Qatar staging its very own boat show, together with his determination, that led to the staging of the first edition of QIBS in 2013.
