Sailing Equipment
Under the umbrella term of Sailing Equipment comes almost everything except the bare bones of the vessel itself. Sailing Equipment includes, naturally, the sails, rudder and mast, but also safety equipment, anchor, ropes and fenders. Sailing equipment would also mean the specialized clothing and footwear necessary for a sailing boat, including waterproofs and shoes and boots designed specifically to not damage but grip the deck. Charts and a compass would also be regarded as essential basics, despite the invention of smartphones with their GPS!
