From Friday to Sunday (April 4–6), Ičići will host the elite of European sailing in the Melges 24 class. The first European Melges 24 Series regatta of the season and the third stop of the Luki Baustoffe CRO Melges 24 Cup, organized by Yacht Club Croatia in ACI Marina Opatija, will welcome 24 crews from seven countries (Croatia, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, and Poland).

“For several years now, Yacht Club Croatia has been an excellent host for the Luki Baustoffe CRO Melges 24 Cup, attracting numerous Croatian and international crews. This year, our story in Kvarner has reached a new level, as we have been given the opportunity to organize the first regatta of the European Melges 24 Series. We are proud that our small club with a big heart, supported by many partners, will host such a powerful fleet,” said Davor Jelača, a member of the Yacht Club Croatia organizing committee.

The entry list is packed with top-tier sailors, led by Trogir’s Mataran 24, a two-time world and European champion in the Melges 24 Corinthian division, and Split’s Razjaren, the current European champion and winner of the European Melges 24 Series.
“The first two regattas of this year’s Luki Baustoffe CRO Melges 24 Cup, held in Biograd and Zadar, have shown just how competitive the Croatian fleet is, with the smallest details often deciding the winner. I’m looking forward to the European Melges 24 Series regattas in Ičići and in May in our hometown of Trogir, as they present a great opportunity to race against top international crews,” said Ivo Matić, a member of Mataran 24.

The Luki Baustoffe CRO Melges 24 Cup is organized in partnership with Angelina Yacht Charter, Sailing Point Croatia, North Sails, One Sails, Akvarij Digital Studio, Regate.com.hr, Raiser Digital Agency, ProMarine, EmergenSea, and Dustom Sails.
