Superyacht Miami show to debut in February 2016!
For those who didn’t get enough of the big yachts at the FLIBS 2015, get ready for a superyacht show coming to Miami soon.
Some of the world’s finest superyachts will be presented in February 2016 at the event organized by Show Management. The vessels at about 100 feet or longer will be displayed at the new Island Gardens Deep Harbour marina on Watson Island on Biscayne Bay. Developed by Flagstone Property Group and being built by Technomarine Group, it is the only marina in the US exclusively designed for superyachts. $47 million cost includes the dredging needed to deepen access to its facilities.
The all-new Deep Harbour at Island Gardens also boast towers with 500 hotel rooms and 100 residences, as well as 14 restaurants and retail space, among other amenities. Completion is expected in 2018.
According to the developers, eventually the show should reach a full capacity with about 50 superyachts.
Many of the vessels now are too big to be accommodated in Miami Beach’s shallower Indian Creek Waterway, where Show Management also produces the annual Yacht & Brokerage Show in February.
Interesting to note that last year the shipyards delivered 156 superyachts worldwide and most of them were built in Europe.
Since this is one of the most sought after yacht shows, we highly recommend you to book your tours in advance, as they are limited to qualified buyers.
