The newly formed Croatian Yachting Association (CRO.Y.A.) is proud to officially announce its inaugural event, the CROYA Charter Show, which will take place in the city of Split from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 October 2024.
The timing of this B2B event has taken into consideration the Nautical Festival that is held in the city during October and of which it is an official part. It is an excellent time to find yourself in Split with its fascinating history, impressive architecture that includes Diocletian’s Palace (one of the six UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Croatia) and tantalizing Dalmatian cuisine.
The dual aim of the CROYA Charter Show is to present some of the finest crewed charter yachts that are available for charter in Croatia and shine the spotlight on the multitude of cruising destinations and attractions that the country has to offer.
The contribution of such an event to the promotion of Croatia as a premier cruising destination is bound to be significant and, as such, CRO.Y.A. has the honor of organizing the Show in partnership with the Croatian National Tourist Board, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport and with the strong support of the local authorities, both town and county.
Attending yachts will be a mix of motor yachts, sailing yachts, motor sailers and gulets, with the majority being based in Croatia. These yachts are fully crewed and belong to the luxury segment of the industry. This will provide attendees with the opportunity to visit and appraise a wide range of vessels, meet the Captains and crew and sample the culinary offerings of the yacht chefs. In other words, they will be able to form their own informed opinion, which is priceless when guiding the choices of charter guests.
During the event, a chefs’ competition will be held that will challenge participating chefs to present an innovative approach to Croatian cuisine and it will be organized by Mike Jennings, a Michelin-trained chef. Mike will also sit on the panel of judges where he will be joined by Chef Ino Kuvačić, author of the cookbook “Dalmatia: Recipes from Croatia’s Mediterranean Coast” and one more distinguished Croatian chef whose name we will be revealing shortly.
A second competition will also be held during the CROYA Charter Show, the CYBA Designer Water Competition, and it will be open to all attending yachts. We are all aware of the severe consequences of plastic waste in the marine environment and a significant contributor to this pollution is plastic water bottles. However, there is a simple and effective way that we can all contribute to preventing these bottles from ending up in the sea: by producing and and serving our own filtered drinking water on yachts, for both clients and crew, and eliminating the use of plastic bottles altogether. The competition aims to raise awareness about “going green to
save the blue” and will task the crew with preparing innovative, heath-enhancing and delicious drinking water. Always respecting the highest of safety standards.
Networking opportunities will also abound as the event has a rich social agenda including opening and closing receptions with exclusive entertainment provided by “Sans”, educational seminars and yacht hops. This is a not to be missed event for those who wish to update their knowledge and information about cruising in Croatia and we look forward to welcoming industry professionals in the vibrant city of Split.
